The comfortable Bothy is tucked away in its own little woodland on the edge of the old stone wall of Cambo Estate. With long views over the fields towards the coastline of Fife, it’s a tranquil place to escape and explore.

Designed for 4 people, the cabin has a kitchen, bathroom with shower, toilet and basin as well as a wood burning stove, BBQ and a large fire pit in a huge tipi for extra outdoor cooking space. The bed nooks are fitted with double beds and organic linen. Everything is provided including bedding, towels, eco cleaning products, eco toiletries and organic tea and coffee.

A space for families, couples or a group of friends. Ideal for those who want to come together in the outdoors yet have all the creature comforts around them.

Inside is compact yet cleverly designed with a big shower room, private bed nooks, kitchen and living room space. The bathroom has a huge shower and window out to the private woodland. The kitchen has 2 gas rings and a mini fridge. Extra chilling space is in the 90l cooler box outside in the store cupboard. All crockery and glassware is ready and waiting.

Outside your own bit of woodland is fenced off from the rest of the estate and is yours to enjoy. Dive into your store cupboard and find a double hammock ready for lazy afternoons under the trees, a big picnic blanket, extra chairs, a large cool box and the gas bbq. There’s a picnic bench for al fresco dining and a 7m high tipi with seating for cosy evenings around the firepit.

Please note that dogs still need to be on a lead in this area as there is open access to the agricultural field in front. Unlimited off lead running space is available on the beach just a couple of minutes from your door.

Sleeping Arrangements

Two double beds in private nooks, each with their own window looking out into the woodland
Wool drop down blinds provide privacy from each bed nook into living area

Kids are very welcome, no extra charge
Use of top bed nook for kids is at own risk. We provide a bed barrier that can be used but cannot be held responsible for falls as it is not failsafe.

Cooking

Indoors there is a 2 ring gas hob and the top of the wood burning stove is designed for boiling/warming/heating
Your own kitchen prep area with mini fridge, sink (eco washing up liquid supplied)
Kitchen equipment includes kettle for hob, plates, bowls, salad bowls, beakers, mugs, crockery, wine & champagne glasses, tumblers, saucepan, frying pan, colander, bbq tools and all necessary utensils.
Take the gas bbq over to the tipi and create an alternative outdoor kitchen
Firepit has swivel plates idea for grilling over the flames

Washing

Within the Bothy is a shower room with large, walk in shower, basin and proper flushing toilet
Eco toiletries supplied
One super-size eco towel per person provided, plus one hand towel in shower room

Heating & Lighting

Wood burning stove – starter logs, kindling and eco firelighters supplied next to stove. Additional logs stored outside
Rechargeable reading lights, night light and desk light provided.
Safety torches supplied for moving to and from tipi
Candle lanterns and fairy lights in the tipi
Cabin is fully solar powered and provides only one 3 pin socket and 4 USB charging points

Please tell us if you are coming to celebrate a special occasion! We will happily decorate the Bothy for you (note we do not use balloons or any other single use plastic items) and we can help to arrange bespoke (locally made) cakes or baking.

Hampers

Our friend Alison from local company The St Andrews Hamper Company has put together some amazing hamper packages to suit the cooking facilities within the Bothy. From breakfast bundles to BBQ packs, grazing plates to picnics, she sources the best local and organic produce from independent butchers, farm shops and bakeries. All delivered (free) in plastic free packaging and waiting for you on arrival. Note orders need to be made 7 days before arrival. All details can be requested at the time of booking.
