If you are looking for somewhere to switch off and relax then this would be the perfect place to stay. We booked as a base for a local wedding, spending a chilled morning walking around the area and enjoying the breakfast from the local cafe. In advance of your stay Fiona sends lots of useful information which helps a lot . The Bothy was, without a doubt, the best holiday cabin we have ever stayed in. It had absolutely everything we could have needed, and every detail had clearly been thoughtfully considered. Whoever created and furnished it has an incredible eye for detail and a real sense of style. The location was simply breathtaking, and the cabin had such a unique atmosphere that we’ve never experienced anywhere else. Our two young boys loved having the freedom to run around, and toasting marshmallows over the fire pit created memories we’ll treasure forever. We also really appreciated all the eco-friendly products provided throughout the cabin—it was a lovely touch and reflected the care that has gone into every aspect of the experience. If we could give the Cambo Bothy more than five stars, we absolutely would! This wasn't just a place to stay—it became one of the highlights of our trip. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed. Our hosts were incredibly kind, gracious, and thoughtful, and it was obvious how much care they put into making the Bothy a warm and comfortable home away from home. One of our favorite parts of each day was taking an evening walk along the beautiful North Sea after dinner. The breathtaking views, fresh sea air, and incredible birdlife made every walk unforgettable. It was peaceful, restorative, and exactly what we had hoped to experience in Scotland. We also loved cooking at the Bothy. The kitchen was one of the best-equipped we've ever found in a vacation rental, with everything we needed to prepare wonderful meals. After a full day of exploring, it was a pleasure to return, enjoy a long hot shower with plentiful hot water, and then sink into the wonderfully comfortable beds for a great night's sleep. Each morning we enjoyed walking to the nearby café for breakfast, which quickly became one of our favorite daily traditions. The location was perfect—quiet and relaxing, yet incredibly convenient for exploring the East Neuk, St Andrews, and the surrounding countryside. The Cambo Bothy is the kind of place that makes you slow down, breathe deeply, and truly appreciate your surroundings. We left feeling refreshed, grateful, and already planning our return. Thank you to our wonderful hosts for sharing such a beautiful place and for making our stay so memorable. What an amazing restful stay. We saw the sun rise over the sea and the stars- no light pollution. We were a 10 minute walk to the sea through a beautiful valley with wrought iron bridges and mature trees. The cabin was eco-friendly, cosy, and thoughtfully designed, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Our dogs absolutely loved exploring the woodland surroundings, making it the perfect dog-friendly getaway. Just back from a wonderful three days at The Bothy. I stayed there with my 15 year old nephew and the “bunk” beds allowed a really good amount of privacy. Beautiful location, immersed in nature. Our two cabins, The HideAway & The Bothy, are on on the Cambo Estate in the East Neuk of Fife near St Andrews, Scotland.

We’re all about spending time outdoors and you can cook on the fire pit or BBQ, laze on the deck and gaze up at the stars or enjoy simply watching deer, squirrels and all the native birdlife.

On the inside see just how luxurious an off-the-grid experience can be. Huge windows draw your eyes to the outside and the incredible views, and every last detail has been sourced for quality and sustainability.

FAQs

Can I check in early?

Do please get in touch and ask. You’re welcome to if it is possible – it usually depends on previous bookings and the cleaning team.

Is it possible to request a late check-out?

Absolutely. We will try to accommodate you if we can. Just ask.

Is there WIFI?

We really encourage our guests to switch off and enjoy a digital detox. However there is wifi in the HideAway, sufficient to work, probably not stream movies. There is no wifi in the Bothy. The closest wifi is in the Stables Cafe, next to where you will park your car.

Do you provide towels and bed linen?

Yes, we provide eco towels and organic 100% linen bedding. All are from UK companies that are B Corp certified.

Is firewood provided?

Yes, we provide a generous supply of seasoned wood for the stove and firepit. We also provide a starter amount of kindling and eco firelighters.

Eco-friendly glamping with a difference ☺The Bothy is a very cosy and beautifully situated small cabin in the woods! It's a short walk from the car park where the pull along trollies are helpfully available. Excellent communication before we arrived gave us a good idea of what to expect, and we were not disappointed. A lovely touch was the welcome note and gift which was waiting for us on arrival. Thank you! The sleeping arrangements in the Bothy are a set of two double bunk beds which are surprisingly comfortable and the blackout curtains ensure a good level of privacy. We were attending a wedding at nearby Cambo House, so we did not use the cooking facilities or the tipi with the firepit - maybe next time! ☹We were two couples (of "mature years"!) who fortunately know each other very well. There is not a lot of privacy for changing into wedding finery! To be fair, we were well warned about this and for us it did not matter. Highly recommend ☺Absolutely lovely property in a very beautiful site. The wildflowers and birdsong were amazing. There are so many positive things to say about the bothy, not least its cleanliness and its comfort. Beautiful and peaceful country stay. ☺The property is quite unique and environmentally friendly. It’s is in a beautiful and peaceful location and gives you the chance to really get away from it all.
