The building is designed for 2 people and is kitted out with a well equipped kitchen; bathroom with shower, toilet and basin and a lovely living area with sofa, wood burner and huge windows. The main bedroom has a beautiful view out over the fields towards the ocean. Indoor and outdoor cooking facilities are available and all the crockery & cutlery are available in the unit. We also supply kitchen cleaning products and soaps for in the shower which are environmentally friendly and approved for our off grid drainage system.

The comfortable Bothy is tucked away in its own little woodland on the edge of the old stone wall of Cambo Estate. With long views over the fields towards the coastline of Fife, it’s a tranquil place to escape to and explore from.
The self catering accommodation is fitted with all the creature comforts you need while travelling and is designed for 4 people. The space is kitted with a well equipped cozy kitchen, bathroom with shower, toilet and basin as well as a wood burning stove and outdoor fire pit. The bed nooks are fitted with double beds and colourful, organic linen. Indoor and outdoor cooking facilities are available and all the crockery & cutlery are available in the unit. We also supply kitchen cleaning products and soaps for in the shower which are environmentally friendly and approved.

Our accommodations on Cambo Estate offer an escape into a magical ancient landscape – one which has been in the same family for over 400 years and yet is far from traditional. From the moment you arrive at Cambo you will feel the charm of the place start to sink in. The stunning beach is on your doorstep and the famous coastal trail is just a few steps away. Explore the Cambo woodlands and pathways, many leading to the seashore. There is also a 2.5acre Georgian walled garden with surrounding edible garden and nature play area for families. Adjacent to that is the Stables Visitor Centre with shop, eco crafts, plants and a stunning vegetarian café.
From the HideAway or the Bothy you can:
Back in your accommodation take the effort out of cooking and order an evening hamper from the café –all that you need for an evening cooking over the fire, relaxing and gazing up at the stars.
DISCOVER THE EAST NEUK
The East Neuk of Fife was once at the very heart of Scotland's east coast fishing trade. The charming tiny harbours dotting the coastline are reminders to this past, though nowadays the boats are mostly for pleasure. This history is still knitted into these communities and a day spent exploring the small villages along the East Neuk is not to be missed - there are local craft shops, great pubs and for younger explorers, some wonderful rock pools calling to be investigated.
The Fife coastal path runs through the entire area, and right along the border of Cambo Estate, just 2 mins walk from the Bothy and under 5 mins from the HideAway. This is a great hiking route to enjoy long days of wandering in nature. Elie's "Chain Walk" is a true adventure and there are all kinds of water sports and inland activities to draw you outdoors.
The nearby historic town of St. Andrews offers not just famous golf courses but also two huge beaches, an aquarium, the stunning ruins of the 12th century castle and Cathedral and the famous harbour and pier. In other direction from Cambo the small, pretty villages of Crail and Anstruther offer crafts, cafes, pretty harbours and world class fish and chips!
The East Neuk is most famous for its marine environment, with many acclaimed beaches and rich marine habitats along its picturesque coastline. Visitors to the area often see dolphins and a boat trip to the Isle of May is a ‘must’ for birdwatching enthusiasts at certain times of year. There are several active conservation organisations in the area, some of whom also work to protect the rare sea eagles which nest in the forests just to the north of the East Neuk. Red squirrels and badgers are frequently sighted in some of the remoter woodland areas.
Several of the larger landowners in the East Neuk have formed an innovative collaboration to drive sustainability and community development in the region, working hard to create new forms of local food production and to mitigate climate change through woodland regeneration.
Edinburgh airport is just over 1 hour away and has flights arriving from most European hubs and many cities around the world. The train from London takes just over 6 hours. Alternatively, try the sleeper train – get on in London, wake up in Fife! If you come by car the East Neuk is just over 1 hour from Edinburgh or 1.5 hours from Glasgow.
